One Little Word

Being mindful is being human.
An awareness of peace and love
delivers a sense of comfort to the person seeking refuge from the
woes of the world around them.

Think of the mind as a damsel in distress, the world a fire-breathing dragon
prepared to devour anything in its path to satisfy a burning hunger.
Instead of waiting for a Prince Charming to swoop in and save you,
train your damsel to save herself.

Humans long for another’s heart to love and cherish and protect,
forgetting that their own heart is the heart that pumps the blood through their veins.
Just as you attempt to mend your heart after heartbreak,
so should you mend your mind after it’s been broken by grief or stress.

Your mind is yours and yours alone.
Being mindful is being whole.
